A mighty old shot where I thought I would have a go at another mono conversion......as you do :-))

Been a little side-tracked with computer things in the last few days!! My Desktop computer was ancient like me and I have been thinking for a while I will have to get one of a more recent vintage!!!! I know you shouldn’t feel pressurised by these big organisations but with support being withdrawn for Windows XP I capitulated and have bought a new HP Desktop computer. It took a lot longer to set up that I thought it should!!! I don’t know why they have to put incomprehensible diagrams in the box that just irritate and confuse my little brain!!! Anyway, we are now up and running :-)))
Now to photography -
“Lomo” style photos feature unique colouring, high contrast, soft focus and dark vignettes. You could use a Russian toy camera like the Lomo LC-A to get these results or you can try for a similar effect using photo software. I found a “Lomo” filter in Picasa software so this is my attempt at the “Lomo” effect :-)

Please allow me to explain why I ‘disappeared’ from ipernity.
Back on 16 January this year Mum suffered a very serious stroke and bleed in the brain. Mum fought on for 9 weeks in Hospital before succumbing on 21 March. The funeral has been held and I have been sorting out Mum’s affairs including clearing her 'Housing Trust' bungalow. It has been a very long ‘journey’ but I now feel I am close to completing all that has to be done. I hope I can now start spending time on my fave hobby :-)

Back to last year :-)
I sometimes try and get human peoples in my shots. But, the last thing I was expecting was for a lorry to pass me on the path :-)))

In my humble opinion no visit to Guernsey is complete without photographing Fort Grey.
So.....here's another shot :-)))
Guernsey Power Station

I have walked by the Power Station countless times but never taken that many photos. But, I did take lots this New Year.........probably because the winter light seemed to make it look more attractive:-)))

Have just returned from a New Year break in Guernsey so will now be trying hard to catch-up!
We had a brilliant time and thank you to Brian and Mary for doing all the organising!
The weather was a little bit interesting to say the least!!! But, we did see quite a few bright and sunny bits :-)))
This shot was taken on New Year’s Eve when we had intended to go over to Herm. But, they couldn’t guarantee the boat would get there successfully and even if it did there was no certainty they would be able to get us back to Guernsey!!!!!
*******A Very ‘Happy New Year’ to All*******

More lookin' through old shots :-))
The structure on the left is part of the World War 2 German Coastal Defences. I do believe there would have been a gun emplacement here. German Forces occupied Guernsey from 30 June 1940 until the liberation on 9 May 1945.

ipernity down, back, down again, back :-)))

****************************************************************************
Well, us TalkTalk customers seem to be back again :-)))
It is very unclear to me why one minute we can access ipernity
and the next we can't :-(((
Hopefully, things are now sorted! But, I am not holding my breath :-)

My original comments -
"ipernity down again for TalkTalk customers!!!
Must be more water in the Network after last night's rain I guess!!!!!
Can only access site by phone and cannot see where Rotate option is :-)))"

I was most fortunate that the young lady with the Autumn coloured hair ran into my shot :-))
