Explored! Thank you very much :-) My ipernity activity has been pretty non-existent for the last week because I had a tooth extraction and I've been living on pain killers ever since!! Been back to the dentist again today and following more treatment I'm hoping the pain may be beginning to fade a little. Also, have pills to take that means alcohol is banned! I think the gentleman with the dog could be a 'gentleman of leisure'. Jesse Winchester released an album entitled "Gentleman of Leisure" in 1999. Explored! Thank you very much :-) This is the new Physics building for the University of Oxford that is nearing completion. As I said previously, it will likely be a building I will photograph pretty often :-) This, therefore, is photo number 2 :-) According to Wikipedia "the main goal of physics is to understand how the universe behaves". So, for 'Sight and Sound' I have chosen "Light The Universe" by Helloween. All I know about Helloween is that they are a German band. However, I do know Candice Night :-) I'm sure everyone knows that Candice is married to Ritchie Blackmore and together they are Blackmore's Night :-) But, did Candice join Helloween for just this track ??? Back in 2013 NME listed 25 Tracks "To Bring In The Autumn". One of the tracks was "The Boys of Summer" by Don Henley. Nobody on the road Nobody on the beach I feel it in the air The summer's out of reach So, a good enough reason to use this track for 'Sight and Sound' methinks :-) This is the new Physics building for the University of Oxford that is nearing completion. Explored! Thank you very much :-) I've walked past the Weston Library many times. I've stood near the entrance many times. I've walked through this entrance area and into the Library many times. But, until just recently, I had not seen this viewpoint as a photo possibility :-) Then I saw the cover of a book entitled "New Bodleian - Making the Weston Library" and the photo on the cover immediately made me think "yes, there are some photo possibilities for me here :-)) I hope the following link works. Explored! Thank you very much :-) Last Saturday (9 Sep 2017) was 'Open Doors' in Oxford when you could visit places not normally open to the public. The day started off sunny but we had a rain shower in the afternoon. I didn't have an umbrella so I took refuge in the entrance to the Weston Library. I thought I should try a few, candid, umbrella shots as you would. Then these ladies came into view :-) Just recently, Paul ( autofantasia ) introduced us to the wonderful and brilliant Postmodern Jukebox. Explored! Thank you very much :-) Yesterday (9 Sep 2017) was 'Open Doors' in Oxford where you were able to visit places not normally open to the public. This photo was taken in what was the Radcliffe Infirmary. The Radcliffe Infirmary was Oxford's first hospital, open from 1770 to 2007. Dr John Radcliffe left a substantial part of his wealth for the building of the Infirmary plus the building of the Radcliffe Observatory and the Radcliffe Camera Library. The Radcliffe Infirmary was the location for the first use of penicillin to treat infections. The building now belongs to the University of Oxford. I had the feeling that "Light Shine" by Jesse Colin Young had been used in 'Sight and Sound'.
