Horner Mühle

... in the evening glow. One of five windmills in Bremen. This so-called 'three-storey Gallerieholländer' (don't ask me what this is in English! - Pandarine? Any idea?) was built in 1848/49. Already at the end of the 19th century a steam machine made it independent from wind, and later in 1926 a diesel engine was installed. It is now a listed historical building. I think it's nice to have it in our vicinity.

Sunset Between the Trees

It was a beautiful day yesterday, so I climbed on my bike and went for a short ride. This was close to our shop round the corner. Looks as if we live in the woods, doesn't it. ;) Happy Sunday! :)

Underwater World

One photo (see above) divided in two: The original and the reflection, turned around and put in one picture. I am still in a 'playful' mood - and just wanted to see what comes out of it.

Ondrata Zibeticus

Not a rat but a big mouse: This musquash suddenly appeared close to the bank of the lake. It was pretty quick and suddenly disappeared when it was attacked by a sea swallow. What a peaceful world! We once had one for a week or so as a holiday guest at our small pond. It looked like a small beaver and had obviously a very good time! :)

Hey - this is called a BIRD feeding place!

It's quite lively here and there is no real pattern of who chases whom away after a while. Usually the birds chase the mice - but then I saw a mouse jumping at a totally surprised robin. This time the robin seemed kind of shy, waiting and hoping that the mouse would leave some food for him. It was quite cute to watch. ;)

Vine Growing...

... like knowledge? One of the buildings at the university. I wonder if they planted the vine as a kind of metaphor?
