Thank you, Dinesh! I love collecting vintage photos - BUT I'm not at all nostalgic (or sentimental) in the sense of thinking that the olden days were better.
I don't have any illusions that the past was a "golden age" It was pretty terrible for many, many groups of people. I love many things about the pictures I discover, but never think "I wish I lived back then"!
The book you mentioned looks interesting. I'll see if I can borrow it from my library.
