I have been to West somerset a few times in the distant past (a few pics are in the gallery), but it is a very nice railway, and I am sure that you will have a great day out!! And plenty of photos to share as well....!!!!

Busy pair of engines producing plenty of smoke, makes for a good picture.

I am pleased you found it interesting.
Of course we know where the engines have a bit of work to do, so we stand there with our cameras!

In this case I suspect a lot of playing to the photographers gallery by the firemen too!!
Another gentleman there said they did it to keep Greta happy!!
Best Wishes, a good holiday weekend, and keep safe!!

I am here again, after a long time.
Happy to return to admire one of your splendid locomotives, perfectly captured in every detail, moving slowly through clouds and puffs of steam.
I love this atmosphere!
best wishes and have a lovely new week!

I'm pleased that you have enjoyed it!
Since it was a gala, and plenty of photographers by the lineside, I have an idea that the engine crews did this on purpose for our benefit!!
Best Wishes, a good weekend, and keep safe!!

PS, sorry for late reply, had a very busy week at work!
I have travelled in one such train, not a joy ride, but 550 miles in about 24 hours. Even now I remember the smell of coal. These ceased operation in 1970s
And there were Broad Gauge, Meter gauge, and narrow gauge -- the last one only hilly regions with speed of 15 mph!
