Thank you so much for joining us at the Mer de Glace. I am not sure why the lady was dressed in these clothes, maybe she has been there painting the glacier for centuries...
You are so right about the glacier, it used to be level with this platform at one time, and since then we have had global warming.......
The picture on the easel is of a little hut right next to here.

Yes, same place, a few years different. I am sure that one day we will end up in the same place at the same time!!! I did have a look through all my photos from that spot, but didn't have one quite like yours. I did find a little hut with a red door, which is maybe the subject of the lady'e picture though, and as you say, it had a big tree at the right side.

The lady is lovely, but the way the glacier has retreated is deeply worrying. At the sides you can easily see how high it used to be...
