Landwasser Viaduct, Switzerland

With its 65m high pillars, tapering towards the top, the viaduct is one of the most elegant bridge constructions in Graubünden. The most frequently photographed feature of the Rhaetian Railways.
Between Thusis and St. Moritz the Landwasser viaduct is the most spectacular construction on the 63 kilometers long Albula stretch. And the Albula and Bernina routes of the scenic Rhaetian railway form part of the UNESCO World Heritage list since mid July 2008 – as first of three railway lines worldwide

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Andy Rodker clubThis viaduct was one of the 'must see' points on the trip. It was so nice to be greeted with the sun shining. (I think this was the only day that there was no rain)!
Best Wishes

It was a long waiting for it. But at last it arrived :))

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to gezginruh clubIt is so nice that you have come to see the viaduct! Thank you so much for the very kind awards which you brought! To get here was a long trip by motorbike, then a walk up the river valley, then a wait for the train.. A really special part of the trip!
Love Peter

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Marie-claire GalletThank you so much! I am so happy that you have enjoyed it. The whole railway is a 'Word Heritage Site', and I will try and add some info on this to the picture.
As for the picture from the window.. Yes, I did take a train over the viaduct purposely to lean out of the window and take a picture! (It will be posted soon - watch this space).

Thank you so much. I had devoted some time to this, and knowing the train timetable, was able to try a few options in the time available (including standing here in the river).
Best wishes

Thank you so much for coming to see the viaduct at Filisur, and for your kind awards!
It is here that all the careful planning had come together.. a nice picture of a world famous landmark on a sunny day! I am so pleased that you have enjoyed it!
Best Wishes
Peter
PS, sorry for late response, I had been away this weekend.
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to Alan Drury clubThank you so much for visiting! It is big! I have also posted a picture of the view crossing it, but I do not know how to hyperlink it yet, sorry!
You will also see that the track is super elevated going over the viaduct to match the curve, so definitely the place not to fall out!!

Peter_Private_Box club has replied to bonsai59 clubThank you so much for visiting, and the very generous awards. I think you are right, most people know of this, but probably have never gone there. It is near to Filisur, and the trains cross at Filisur, so a great place to be for a few days. This view was taken on about the only day it did not rain, hence standing in the river is possible!!
Best Wishes
Peter
... (this one taken with your feet firmly on the ground?) (but don't fall in) ...
Peter_Private_Box club has replied to L. L. Wall clubThank you for the visit, and again sorry for late response. I am really happy that you like this one, but no feet on the ground I'm afraid. Balancing on a rock in the middle of the stream maybe!
Best Wishes
Peter
