HANWE, everybody. Tenacious ivy

HANWE, everybody. Tenacious ivy
I've followed this cliffside plant for perhaps 30 years and it seems to thrive in these inhospitable conditions. Perhaps worth viewing it on large. I greet it like an old friend! From the steep footpath down to Fishing Cove.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=av2vgiYAlXY - again, just 'cos I like it!

Involving a lot of huff and puff when I smoked and within days of giving up I was buzzing up and down the cliffs paths like I was making up for lost time!
Thank you,Gillian!

3o years thriving in adverse conditions. It is curious that you have warned of its evolution after so many years. You are a very observant person. Best wishes, Anton.

Il serait très intéressant de la voir en gros plan avec un téléobjectif ! Elle épouse bien la paroi pour ne pas tomber les jours de vent.
Bon week-end Andy.

Ivy is a tough plant but I didn't expect to see it growing in such a place! The photo is really superb with this vegetal foreground and the immensity of the sea!
Have a nice day Andy******

It's why I've always looked out for it when I pass this way, which is really only about once every five years! Thank you, Nouchet!

Such a great view from up there Andy..............and I love the greenery, especially the bit where you've added the note.........it does bear a startling resemblance to a climbing figure!

A lovely sky and clouds..........and a nice calm sea too. Very well captured.

Ivy takes a lot of shifting Andy. I guess where this one is, it doesn't really matter, but we have just pulled a load of the stuff out of a hedge! A gorgeous shot and beautiful when enlarged.
Have a good weekend.

Thank you, Rosa.
I planted one once (a variegated leaf variety - I forget the name now) to cover an uninteresting and shaded wall on the side of the house. It loved it there and in only three years I was having to peel it away from the roof!

Yes it does look as if it's at home there. The thickness of the plant is fantastic. As ivy is quite difficult to get rid of normally - something that's been allowed to grow that length of time, it would take a motorized cutter to cut it down. This is a superb picture too - I see that it was taken just before Christmas, when we had some nice weather - today would have been rather different.

Increíble la fortaleza y pujanza de esa planta de hiedra. La alternancia con algo que te ha hecho compañía durante años, sin dañarte ni molestarte, te resulta familiar y amigable.
