Granite and not much else.

La Sierra de La Cabrera. Fantastic walking / scrambling country. Shot taken on a bitterly cold January day (I know it looks like high summer!)

All the best TOZ
Andy Rodker club has replied to Rosalyn HilborneThe coldest I've been anywahere has been nights in Central Spain in deepest winter (and I used to go ice-climbing in Scotland!). Madrid is bang in the middle of the country (so next to no moderating maritime influences), is the highest capital city in Europe (+/- 2,500 feet). is on a dusty and windswept plateau with mountains close by (within sight anyway). All this leads to very cold winters in the main. There is an old saying in Madrid, 'Nueve meses de inverno, tres meses de inferno!' (Nine months of winter, three months of hell!) ... and that just about sums it up!
mooi Andy
I like this picture very much!
It is a very different and exciting structure in the rocks. Hard to believe it is natural.
Fantastic colours too, hard to believe it is cold.. Does Spain ever get cold???
Best Wishes, and stay safe!!
Peter
Andy Rodker club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubAndy Rodker club has replied to Jenny McIntyre clubReally the most crystal-clear sky is in winter as the summer heat haze and the dusty nature of the plateau often dulls the views then.
Have a good Thursday
