I'm pleased it was seriously curtailled this year, Peter, if for all the wrong reasons. (Every cloud...!)
No idea on the erosion front, it could have happened eons ago under the sea, or even post-glacial. I have been shown examples of both on Cornish granite and couldn't tell the difference, so I don't really know rhe answer.

They resembles some holes in coastal rocks which I have seen in Norway. And I have seen small holes worn in small rocks in Norfolk. I too hate Hallowe'en, but the children in our village have had great fun creating ghostly characters and pumpkin lanterns in their gardens instead of wandering around after dark with 'trick or treat'. So in lots of ways that made me smile.

Good film that, I have the DVD and watch it once maybe twice a year. I must admit the two holes do look a bit eerie.

This looks more like a skull as Jean above has said. Those holes do look man made though - very round indeed.
