Nisperos

My walk to classes often involves traipsing through uninspiring (though admittedly strongly-built) housing estates but I do occasionally come across gems such as this nispero tree (Japanese loquat). The fruit is delicious although the large inner pips must not be ingested - posonous! Maybe that is why they aren't often on sale in the UK! They are in season here now and I buy them! They're not too sugary, so fine for an occasional treat for a diabetic like me!
