Isn't this lovely. The water and its patterns and textures are mesmerizing.
Sorry to hear about the dryness of the area and the plight of the tadpoles, I know this all too well at our seasonal pond. It always dries up before the pollywogs can all turn into frogs. I've saved them for a couple of seasons but it's interfering with nature's way and really just causes more problems in the end so I stopped. I have to avoid the pond at the end, it crushes my heart.

Always a worry when the high mountain streams dry up but still lovely shot of light through the water

This one always dries up in June, Colin but this year it will be dry by now, rather than at the end of the month and already the reservoirs are dangerously low and the farmers have seen a disastrous harvest (yes, the harvest season has been and gone!).

Yes nature has a way of evening out too many creatures, but man doesn't help by building too many houses on land where creatures live.
