Thriving field mushroom,

Thriving field mushroom,
The salty air obviously doesn't bother them at all. Indeed they thrive in Cornwall, I have picked them the size of dinner plates.

Dimas Sequeira, Gudrun, Marie-france Berthelé, Diane Putnam and 19 other people have particularly liked this photo

I USED TO GET UP EARLY, GO INTO THE HORSE PADDOCK AND COLLECT A DOZEN OF THESE GIANTS FOR THE STAFF BREAKFAST AT THE PUB / RESTAURANT I WORKED AT IN THE LATE 70S. THEY WERE RELIABLE ENOUGH TO BE ON THE PRINTED MENU!

Amazing mushroom! It can be picked to cook or be used as a shade or shelter...

Thank you, Dimas, I left it alone although I knew it would be delicious!
