Autumn Color

Autumn Color
When at Hog Lake recently we hiked along the west shore of the lake and then back across the prairie. These are Aspen, the only native trees in our area that change their color in autumn. Most of the trees are Ponderosa Pines. The Aspen tend to grow in wetter areas, here near a pond.

So lovely and your composition makes them all look even prettier. I am crazy about Aspen trees with their white bark and gorgeous fall foliage. I must be mistaken about our tree in the side yard...it doesn't have white bark. I'll have to study the leaves and get a positive ID. As for your inset...I'm so glad you posted that!!!! The composition really capitalizes on the swirls and wonderful shapes it formed. Nature's watercolor painting!
