San Antonio Riverwalk

One of the nicest things about the city of San Antonio, Texas, is its riverwalk. The walk follows the river as it meanders through the city, usually on both sides of the river, sometimes only on one. It is at the level of the river for the most part and the noise and bustle of the city seem far away. There are cafes and other businesses that can be accessed and bridges to cross from one side of the river to the other as in this photo. After checking into our guest house we followed the riverwalk through the city to the Alamo. All the photos are from that excursion and since I couldn't choose any one to post I just posted all the better ones.

And now for a reply to your post to me! :)
First, I'm so glad you got to see the osprey pictures. They're not phenomenal but I remember the moments we were there getting the very last drops of battery life for those pictures. By the way, the reason the nest looked so "low" was because the road was high up and the tree grew from a much lower point...so it was still higher than the road we took the pictures from but we did have a great vantage point for sure!
Oh man...I'm so SORRY that you lost your whole message to me...confound it all, that's SO INFURIATING when that happens!!! I'm glad you didn't throw your monitor out the window, but I'd certainly understand if you did.
Just this morning I was cleaning Pumpkin's cage out (she was downstairs in the cage with "Papabird")...her cage hangs from the ceiling and this particular cage is new--replaced about a month ago. Anyway, I banged the side of the cage to bump some crumbs into the tray before I took the paper out to toss in the trash. Imagine my bug-eyed horror when the ENTIRE BOTTOM of the cage FELL OFF! Piles of seed, masticated veggies and fruits, bread, crunchies, nuts and lots of birdy poo too...were flung all over the place, including into the humidifier below her cage. OMG WHAT A MESS!!! Apparently the bottom wasn't firmly attached...ya think? *GROAN* So then Steve got in there and tried to fix it...nope, nope, and nope. He ended up needing to go across to the shop to get a drill and some other stuff before it was finally fixed...and all of this when both of us were just getting up at 7am! NOT a lovely way to start the day! Heh...but it turned out just fine and better to find out now than if we were in a situation needing to leave or something.
Ok, I'm going to stop here and pick this up again in a bit--time to go watch our show and cuddle chicken before her bedtime! BBIAB!
