Umatilla Rock

These are a few more photos from Dry Falls State Park in eastern Washington. My wife and I were there at the beginning of a recent trip through Washington, Oregon and northern California, but these photos were taken on another excursion with the Washington Native Orchid Society. I believe this formation is named Umatilla Rock.
Johanna, William Sutherland, , Annemarie and 21 other people have particularly liked this photo

RHH club has replied to Alexander Prolygin clubIn principle your first page deserves the tittle but all of the are outstanding.
Well done , Ron.
Glad you loved the ground squirrel pictures...it's fun for me to share pictures of subjects you've never seen, since you've been around so much! I love that. It wouldn't be any fun if all I ever showed you were things you've seen a million times. This way we can share unique sights and it's great to share our discoveries! :)
Heh, you don't know how many times you came to mind in regards to wanting so desperately to look up information about the subjects I was photographing. The squirrels blew a fuse...I thought about you and knew you'd be the same as me. I think that if you're a curious sort like we are, having the internet available is critical. Of course, there ARE books. Heh...only they were ALL sitting on a shelf at home. I sat and imagined them...how nice it would be if I had them WITH ME, confound it all! LOL, Lesson learned...I've got a bunch of different guide books that will live in the RV now, and amazingly, I'll actually get some use out of them! (heh, my mammeas book doesn't have the species of ground squirrel I photographed but at least I'd have been SURE it was a ground squirrel! :D)
I just loved reading about your library memories. Again we are twins. For me, I spent every moment out of class in the library. I even ate my lunch there. My shoulders and back muscles were totally built up because I'd stuff my backpack to bursting with books to take back and forth. I was known as the "Library Girl" and basically spurned because I was such a bookworm. Not that I cared, I was busy reading! :D
Oooooh, Steptoe looks marvelous! And Palouse Falls...soooo lovely!!! I hope you had a wonderful time visiting! Gosh, there are so many fantastic day use and tent camping only parks to visit. Steve and I will some day move up to a slightly larger rig with better functionality and when we do, we'll spend the bucks for full solar and then we'll be able to stay at no-hookup sites (though we still won't be able to go to tent-only places of course). Our horizons will open ever further at that point and we'll take our show to the entire country, slowly crawling across the continent and soaking everything up! One step at a time!
Hope your meeting goes well--and what a super reward afterwards at Palouse! YAY FOR ROAD TRIPS! :)
Amazing, Ron!!
