Bow Lake

Bow Lake
I recently posted some photos of Bow Lake during the winter. These photos are thee same lake in the summer, one of the most beautiful spots in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. We visited there in 2014 on the way to Edmonton, traveling through Kootenay, Banff and Jasper National Parks and Mount Robson Provincial Park in British Columbia.

Be still my beating heart. Look at these pictures...*swoon* Each more amazing than the last! Fabulous and so breathtaking. Heh, Steve is planning to map out our trip to Vancouver Island this summer...we had a perfectly lovely day there a few years back and the idea of spending a WEEK there just to toodle around...we can't wait to soak it all up. :) And as for the rest of Canada, we are planning to do a very long, slow crawl probably next (not this) summer. What fun! :)

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments about my before-sunrise silhouette. I'm so glad you liked the way it turned out. :) And you sure do make a great point about the perks of traveling that plops you right where an awesome picture can be had just feet from where you sleep! :) And also, getting up is a LOT EASIER if it's no effort but to just pull some clothes on and step outside for an incredible reward! :) I look forward to countless sunrises and sunsets in the future!

I also look forward to doing some astral photography. That's more of Steve's forte and, as this was our first trip, the idea didn't even occur to him. Steve's still trying to get his photo mojo back. It was thoroughly burned out of him after 6 yrs of product photography in a studio filled with asshats and neanderthals who were miserable to work with to the point that Steve wanted to quit on a regular basis. So, he took some pictures on this trip (and omg he got some ZINGERS!) but he's still got a ways to go before he's as enthusiastic as I am. I am going to bring up astral photography to him for our next trip (the Monday after next!!) and I bet he'll get very excited about the idea! :D

I hope you got some great starry shots, I look forward to seeing them!!

Regarding your comment about not worrying about visiting your pictures and experiencing your travels is much more important...well I was thinking about you a lot during our trip and precisely what you said, too. So I didn't comment at all for the most part. I visited a couple of pictures but I didn't plan to leave any comments anywhere. I have learned a lot from what you've said about your travels and am taking your advice to heart. :)

Orchids...I was head over heels for them years ago when I found out you could grow them and they would rebloom under the right conditions. Heh...that's the challenge! I tried my best but was largely unsuccessful. I do love them so much though. Who knows...maybe some day I'll get or build a tiny orchid house (or even a special indoor type on the wall that's got it all going on inside with humidity and light and so forth), but right now I'm with you...I'll hunt for them outside and leave the fuss for down the road if ever. I looked up those Moccasin Flowers and about fell over. To see one in the wild? O M G would that be something.

Finally, just to tell you what a brat I am, Steve bought one of those nifty, small tripods that you guys love. Take it! *shove* LOL, I don't want to use it! Ok ok, I could be cooerced but I just don't want to use the darn things...light as that one is, it's STILL too cumbersome to deal with. See? I'm a total brat! :D

Ok off I go! BTW, did you ever get the chance to see my turkey picture with the pair? If you didn't see it, check it out. Not something you get to see every day! :D
