Leaf Miner

Leaf Miner
Photographed along the Maligne Lake Road in Jasper National Park, this Aspen leaf has been done in by a Leaf Miner, probably the Aspen Serpentine Leafminer, Phyllocnistis populiella. Most Leaf Miners are moth larva and the little critter that did this can be seen along the upper edge of the leaf.

Although a very artsy pattern, it is a shame to see the damage to the leave. Excellent capture.
