Black Bear

This is a female Black Bear photographed along the highway in Mount Robson Park. In the picture above she is watching her cub who was with her and both of them are shown in the picture below. She was wet from foraging in the stream along the road but even with her cub there paid no attention to the cars that had stopped on the shoulder to watch. The Black Bear, Ursus americanus, (not always black) is found all across northern North America.
