The apple-paring knife seems to have lead a hard life...............but it's survived nonetheless. I think a lot of people have a favourite knfe. I know I do :-)

I have an almost identical Swiss Army Knife too.............although I can't remember where I got it from.

It seems that the famous Swiss Army knife was everywhere in the 70s and 80s. An affordable status symbol for semi-hippies. ;-)

Yes, millions of them have been sold in N. America. They became popular in the '70s, I think, when they started to be sold in sporting goods stores. In some families (mine, for example) everyone has one! ;-b

My grandfather used the 1925 one in his vegetable garden. In fact I just bought an old and burned one just like this.. for no reason, just for the have of it...

I saw one like it online that was called a mushroom knife. I can imagine them being used for all kinds of vegetables and even for grafting. Sometimes, you need to buy something just to have it! ;-)
