Käthe Kollwitz

Käthe Kollwitz
(See PiPs) One of my early favorites, as much for her social compassion as for her art, which, of course, can't be separated. Translated from German, Pantheon Books, 1981.

Smiley Derleth, kiiti, Andy Rodker, have particularly liked this photo

That's just a tiny fraction of them. I'll upload one or two every once in awhile. I have been sorting my books into "Sell" and "Keep" and most of the art books are in the Keep pile (so are the ones about Africa). Haha!

I have started rereading some of my far too many books hoping to get rid of some of them. Guess what, most I want to keep;-)

I know what you mean! They are the hardest things for me to get rid of, too.

An early favorite for me too. There was a large format book of her drawings in what looked like (may have been) lithographic crayon. It was to study.

They probably were. Maybe I should read the book again! Thank you, Smiley.
