The turkey was delicious

"Actress Ann Sheridan celebrates Thanksgiving in 1940." tinyurl.com/yawjf3db

I hope that all of you who celebrate Thanksgiving had a great one, a day for family, laughter, food and, above all, thankfulness. Our meal was a cooperative effort, with six people contributing different parts of the meal and eleven of us enjoying it. Participants were aged six months to 92 years! Afterward, to round things out, three dogs had scraps of leftover turkey. ;-b

Smiley Derleth, Steve Bucknell, menonfire, Christina Sonnenschein and 15 other people have particularly liked this photo

You do look very swish in your younger days, Diane! Although how you avoided dragging your sleeves through the gravy is beyond me!
Interesting that even the food was black and white in those days!
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving (even though I'm not exactly sure what it is!).

B&W food is not as tasty as color. What makes you think I avoided dragging my sleeves in gravy? You overestimate my gentility, Andy, but thanks anyway!

A big turkey like that might be a bit too much for breakfast, Leon! Thank you for your star and comment!

Ahh, lovely! Your husband must love it - if men love such things. I used to go into decorating overdrive this time of year, but I haven't done that in years. I don't really know why, because I still love to see it!

Jay doesnt care... his family never made anything of holidays and birthdays. I only do little stuff like this and a Christmas tree . This year.. I dont much feel like it.. but then hate it if I dont do it.

I cannot imagine she really carved that turkey - her sleeves would have ended up full of grease;-)

Good heavens no! She was a movie star, and as you say, wearing a puffy silk blouse. Danke, Gudrun!

Diane Putnam club has replied to Marie-claire Gallet
I didn't know you ate turkey for Christmas in France! I'm sure you have found a way to make it more delicious than American turkey. ;-b

Merci, Marie-claire!

Oh Diane you look so elegant ........HTGD to you.......We in the UK have Harvest thanksgiving which is low key !!!

Don't I? And my finest gold-rimmed crystal, too! Thanksgiving is pretty low key for my family, maybe most these days. I think it was a much bigger thing between the 40s & 60s, when women still liked to cook for 15 people. Lol!

I've always though Thanksgiving was a much better idea than Christmas!

Belated Thanksgiving greetings Diane. That's a great selfie!

Thank you, Keith, I'm getting pretty good at this selfie thing!

No gifts, just food! Our joke is that Thanksgiving is the day when a bunch of relatives who don't like each other much have to eat together. This year, millions of families solved that problem by not inviting the ones who voted for Trump.
