Message

This is a sort of hobo signature left recently (date is 9-17). I have seen it in several places. There is always a date and sometimes the direction of travel, which railroad and other information. In this case, "guacamole" might mean something other than the obvious. Here is another one in another part of town, possibly made by the same person:

Fascinating images Diane.............I thought the days of Hobos jumping on and off trains were long gone!

Most travelling communities around the globe have their "secret" sign systems as do the criminal fraternity apparently. A quick Google search brings up all sorts of interesting stuff.

I didn't think of a Google search, I'll try it! Those days aren't gone, the hobos are just called something else, now: homeless. I don't know about other parts of the country, but in the west there are still train jumpers. In a vast, somewhat empty area, it's the fastest way to travel without money. Klamath Falls is a popular jump-off spot for some rest, food, places to camp and the drug of your choice. Small town, easy to navigate and relatively benign cops.
