Hard to comprehend! It looks like Jose will graze the east coast, hopefully without too much damage, although flooding is a real possibility.

Watched from this side of the pond with something approaching horror. Both the living through it and the building up from scratch, I don't how one copes with that. Your image is a good one, Diane.

We thought we had it rough last night when wind speed in some parts of UK reached 85mph - I can't imagine what those poor people are going through :-(

Only thing I know about where we lived in Florida --- it is hard to get around with power lines across the street -- one had best know the back roads.
No power, but hope that is the least of worries for our neighbors.

Hello and thank you, Peggy! Those power lines are terrifying! Every time there is a natural disaster, I'm reminded of how ill-equiped I am to cope on my own for 10 days or more. :-(

Here in Italy , there are no Hurricanes yet, but thanks to our politicians ' carefulness about the changing of the climate and the wild overbuilding (done in 1960s-70s),the people have been experiencing landslides, floods.. more and more frequent earthquakes...we were not used to before.
La natura si ribella..
