Stumped!

A fence/gate post makes a great mountain for this miniature tree to start life. Will it outgrow the post or transform into a true Bonsai? A pity that I am unlikely to ever walk past this spot again. Seen near Aberfoyle, Scotland.

I suggest you measure the height and plan for a return visit in say ,5 to 10 years time.
