Carrbrook reservoir

Carrbrook reservoir
A new reservoir for us, forever on the lookout for someplace local but different. The tower on here reminded me a little of the ones I sometimes read about in my phantasy novels but in picking this photo out of a few I took, it was the presence and placing of the mallard ducks that interested me too.

I also like the very earthy colors, with just a few hints of emerging green, Herb. It definitely needs full screen to appreciate the details and reflections fully.

Thanks Annalia. It was the scene as a whole that caught my attention rather than any reflection. In fact I have left out the far better reflection shot. Yes, full screen is better.

A rare place for me too Colin. All this area has and is still quarried for stone. The left side here was shrewd with rocks that could only have been spoils. The darkness showing the peat which is still rather bare. Not the fires, I don't think-but you may be right about that too as it was near here.

Very well composed Herb.............and some lovely grasses in the foreground. It seems very tranquil there with the beautiful still blue water and the cloudless sky. I can see why your eye was drawn to the ducks and their reflections.

A most interesting little water here my friend. The tower bring to mind 'The dark Tower' in Steven King's famous novels. I did like the ducks, in particularly the central one that obliged me.
