St Anne's Church and memories.
The lovely church of St Annes in Lydgate is the scene again for our local walk and photos. With its poignant reminder here at its entrance gate of special person close to many people throughout the world: HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh who has recently passed away. His funeral takes place today at Windsor.

All three pictures are beautiful Herb. It was a very moving ceremony today wasn't it! I felt so sorry for The Queen. She looked so small and sad. I noticed the Princes were talking after the service! A lovely tribute....Have a good and safe weekend, Rosa.

It was indeed Rosa. I did not think I would be glued to the ceremony but I was. I was undecided as to whether to post these pictures but your comments here make me relise it was the right thing to do.

Yes a great hilltop church here which is exactly our turn around point on one of our 5m local walks. A small community which love their church no doubt. There is a nice seat facing the sun, along the wall of the main church for us to rest awhile too.

A good tribute Herb. We watched the funeral and thought it seemed more meaningful with the reduced attendance and the 4 singers made a great impact.

Ah yes Colin -I must agree with you there. A real insight into their closer family without the hoards that are usually present. A most moving funeral for a gentleman that I had some respect for.
