We went on the Brother in laws bus for a trip for the day down to Busselton for breakfast and Lunch in the Park. On the way down I went on the internet just how long is the jetty I got quite a shock. Having Walked the jetty with my parents 2005 note the big change to the whole jetty. I asked two of the brother in law Who is up for a train ride. For the cost of $16 dollars and all proceeds to the up keep of the jetty its a no brainer. you think its short but in reality 1841 m long the longest in the Southern Hemisphere but only "dwarfed" by Southend Pier 2158m long only 310m longer. Just love the note on the sign " you are out to Sea". Its good to see the end of the pier fixed up and now part of the Whole last time I walked out it was just the stumps of the legs. The trip home was a real eye opener on the bend. Just how the Train works its a truck with tyres but has railway wheels to follow the tracks and you can see why it does not travel fast as the bend the railway wheels hang off the Track as it follows the bend. This is looking from shore out to the jetty where it was originally from but for the train you will not an almost straight line out to the end.

I first took one night mix of the three filters O3 S2 Ha to see if it looked promising. I have been chasing cool to run the camera at -10c I have to get a 25c start. The one night looked very promising so I added an extra nights worth of shots to each filter to get close to 100 shots each. My first shot showed my Flats was not very good there were some Lens train faults the showed up in the processed image. so I got up at 5 am in the cool of the morning to retake a whole new set of flats Restack the whole lot and start all over again. you can see the big dot in the very center and the normal amount of vignetting you see on a telescope around the edge.(darkened corners) its a case of retaking the whole lot all over again...but the shot below shows you what is removed from the stacked shots to get a clean shot for each of the three filters. The Narrow band filters shows up a lot more of the Nebulas than a normal one shot colour camera. This is my first real shot into this world a lot more work but very interesting results. This photo was taken by a Black & White Camera but with filters that show up the elements of the Nebula. Ha ( Hydrogen Shows up Red) S2 (Sulphur shows up a Darker red) O3 ( Oxygen Blue green). The shot above was combined as Ha S2 S2 . note the colour difference in the shot below same data as the top shot but a different combination so different colour HSO. All these shots where taken Jan 2022 with a borrowed B/W camera today I start with my own camera. Hubble Pallet Make no mistake there is a bit of learning goes with this My first try if all goes well will be. Which will only be taken Ha O3O3 no Sulphur in this nebula. This is three night shot and the finish of my use of the coloured camera. This is all a part of the same area in the Large Magellanic Cloud Space is black look at all the nebulosity in the area. See if you can find the Pterodactyl head and the small man holding a spear aloft ( hint look in the white area) Next week I will be using the same camera as this but it will be a Mono camera and the use of filters on a filter wheel. It will still be a coloured photo but will be more the Elements that make up the Nebulas. This will be a big learning curve. PIP is an overview of the area same camera small telescope. As I was pulling out to come home from work I stopped and got the phone out for this cracking shot.

This may look like one shot but in fact is 4 shot panorama of the area. The main reason for the shot was to see the big star middle top and its difraction spikes from the new solid spider. I had to retake flats as the first stack when I looked at the shot looked like Checkerboard. Flats are uses to remove lens faults and dust. if you look at the pip you can see just what I mean. We went to the farm to check the Vines and how they are going. Lots of new growth which the plants need and no grapes. Next year they will be full of grapes... but the new growth that was needed is there. The field on the left is all wheat which most around this area is.

In contrast to the shots you see that are around this is so bright its less than half the Exposure time. The other shots are 5 min this is 2min, Huge difference and I then took another 2 1/2 hours of 1 min exposure to have the core at a better exposure.. Shot below was made darker to try and do the same note the difference. The confusion of follow my lead this is the way you have to Collimate to this is how I do it. two sets of eyes that show the same but one says adjust RIGHT the other says adjust LEFT. Carlos only use the two eyes to adjust the Secondary mirror not looking at the main mirror , then puts the single eye in the you see just how you adjust to the the main mirror correct. It adjust one do the other then back and forwards till all are correct between the Secondary mirror and the main mirror. not at all how I was told or shown. In two nights I have gone from very bad to very good the detail and the points on the bright star show the 4 vanes on the spider Its good to understand the right way of going about all this. I carry a Blower about 12kg to blow the grounds of leaves I clear these steps as well. The motion of the blower on your back is twisting you is so nice to have the rail to hold on to as you blow the steps of leaves and branches.
