I went hunting Orion but found it so high it was almost too hard to photograph. The photo I got inspires me to wait till next year to get it even better before posting.

You are looking at the result of over a weeks work to convert dead grass and sand pit into some thing I can use in the new house that is more like some thing we can live with. This is just how I pictured it when we first saw it and why we took this house. the area is 8M x 4M so you can see just how much work went in here a little why I have not been on ipernity each day.. PIP the last rental and the steps to get to this.

Smokey Moon from all the fires.

This blaze started yesterday mid morning this is 20min from my home where the PIP was shot. Roads closed, buildings burnt, today was 41c and we have 3 more days of it no help for the fire fighters. My night spot may be burnt out completely or untouched but it bang in the area. another hot smokey night again.

My favorite tree has been cut down but I found this great view. I got the chance to show a photographer a little of the night. this shot was taken with the tripod two legs in the field and one on the outside over the gate and fence either side of the view. what looks like a single shot is in fact is made up of two rows of 7 vertical shots to make up this panorama. no need to put the camera away when the moon 86% is out has its own charm....

We met two student from Melbourne University working in the cave.

My first real Astro photo with some background, idea and small amount of experience. 2014 come a long way in 6 years . PIPS just some of the few photos of this Rock.

The all important question in Australia this time of year.

My first try at going out into the dark from the new home I have been foiled by smoke and fires for three nights. This is 20 min from home left North Right is south Perth city lights. main reason was to find a spot to get Orion from I have just two months of view, but I was foiled by 13% moon and setting @ 11:30pm. A few notes on the sky and surround.

A shot from the viewing platform at the high point looking Due west out to sea. The smoke content of the day shows up with the longer lens. Part of the paid crew flew into the shot.......Hawk flying over the park.

Wind, Man, Birds and what looks like cat marks top left. If you look at the bottom of the bird tracks you can see the small patch of the hard clay that the yellow Sand is blowing over.
