A Fathers legacy of a life long photographer, Hope not the final shot.

A Fathers legacy of a life long photographer, Hope not the final shot.
2017 I grabbed Mum's Camera as I had mine in the back of the car ready to drive back to the unit. My father now 91 and Mum 87 now an enemy we can not see not defend ourselves against can so easily do so much damage to families. I hope to see them both again when life comes back to normal but living in hope. Living in New Zealand but may as well be on the moon at the moment. nothing sum up how I feel like this song as a photographer.

Glad you like the shot . It would be sad to think this is where it ends but they are doing all they can self isolating much as we are. We have to see this through to get to the end but I do not think that soon is a word we can use just yet. you stay safe yourself.

its hard so close but with all borders closed It is so far away. there Grand daughter is looking after them and helping them. you take extra care your self right in the middle of all this.

At last they have the grand daughter that is taking care. I have almost to thank that my father left us 3 years ago with 90, I don't know what I would have done now. Each time you go out you could come back with the disease. And maybe you could heal, but so older people is difficult.

The really sad part is we now see here its not just the old that get it bad even the young do not fair well. The sad part is I understand just what you mean your father was the lucky one never to go through this. Its not the going through but more that they are totally on there own and really have no idea of the modern society. why cant I use cheque's any more..... a little lost in age over translation.

I know its not finished with us yet and in NZ I don't really think its started yet but they are already doing all the right things. We have to take it day by day, you take care yourself and do all the right things.

Hi Steve , certainly a thought provoking image. we have young grandchildren in the South island and wonder if we will ever see them again. We are Aussies but the family over there are all dual citizens ,so it might be easier for them to trip here if the time ever comes. Of course we may not be around.
Self isolating is annoying especially when you see many people flouting the order.
Lets hope we don't notice a drop in friends from ipernity.
Continue to be safe. Regards Peter

Peter I can understand how you feel I have two passports but I do not think that will help me one bit. I am a bit like you isolating and watching the news and seeing others not even care. we have been told that we are no longer free to travel about in WA you can only stay in your region so most if not all my night spots are well out of the city and out of the region.

the good thing is my parent have been isolating for a while but at that age and on blood thinners will no help dad at all. I only hope Its not all I get a chance to see of them both photos from the last trip to NZ. I did forget you I got in contact with all I knew In Oz we should all keep in contact so we all know how we are going through this crisis.

I know the world on the other side of all this is going to be very different. You stay safe from the west.

A wonderful capture of your dad in this most picturesque of settings. We feel for you Steve. Your parents are on a cut-off remote Island but lots of our children feel just the same as you do, as they cannot get to the homes, hospitals and care-homes of their parents too, sometimes just in the next town or village. These are hard times my friend but I am sure we will get over them relatively soon. There is a lot of love and care out there!

Keep safe. Herb & Eileen

I know just what you mean both great grandchildren are no more than 3 min away from us but they may as well be on the other side of the world. That is the way we have to look after ourselves, we only leave home for work ,food or Doc. cabin fever, boy the wine tastes good.

yeah it sucks cause thats not me I would be out under the stars but now I cant afford the $50k fine so it thinking of later.

you both stay safe we all want to be here on the other side of this.

I know I am not enjoying what must be done but thats life as we know it now. Sadly my parents do not see the gravity of it at all and are there own worst enemy. there granddaughter is thinking on taking all the car keys away from them to stop them "visiting " there friends. yesterdays phone call to them they do not see the seriousness of it. they want there normal life back.

you wonder why I worry but I feel for my niece she is copping the full brunt of it in NZ. yes I will look forward to life getting back to normal. you keep yourself and family safe as you can.

What a beautiful image Steve. It must be really special to you having your dad in it. My own dad has early onset dementia and it is really hard having to make do with telephone calls. My daughters have been amazing helping out and he does have some care but it is still a worry, so I know how you feel. Try not to worry too much. Take care and stay safe.

Steve Paxton club has replied to Ecobird club
Its not easy at that age and far away. we just found out he has been taken to hospital but they say not Covid related so we just have to wait. My Niece will be going through a hard time alright. You take care.
