Ko I will humbly take the comment but not truly happy with the photo I know I will have to look at this again. you can only just and I mean just I knew where it was more than see this with the naked eye and if it was not for the laser pointer I would never find it with 600mm and that huge sky. I know this is some thing most will shy away from but I thought it worth posting for some one like you half a world away.

DJ many thanks while you will never see it and I can only see it via a lens, your comments make all the trouble and strife worth while. Its way harder to get this discipline right I totally believe you have to find what works for you.

Looking at this photo that comment suits it perfectly as I remember the star of the start of the shows this view, almost. as a person who use to watch the program its one I remember very well those words and look foward to each week. There is a space we dont see and hope that "to boldly go" there is may be a log I should think about. I know the interest is very small the skill set is very demanding why its a case of you do question yourself is it worth the effort.

In the words of Captain Kirk " Beam me up Scotti " for another round of space exploration.......into the unknown and unexpected.

I am sure that one day you will capture something which is new to science.. A new comet maybe, or a supernova in a distant galaxy..

Thanks for the thought but I am limited to 600mm but 500mm is the sharper end of the lens so I can get a bit more. the big lens is not so good in a light breeze as you can imagine it like a sail. Its all part of the learning curve also learning how to use Bahtinov focus mask for this lens I made my own. I am getting more comfortable in what I have to do as the images are collected, processed and displayed.

Glad you like the idea I will try a few others when there is no moon while I wait for M/Way season to come.
