La Ghiacciaia in Piazza Municipio (unica in valle) è una costruzione muraria cilindrica, necessaria ai tempi per la conservazione del cibo. La neve veniva compattata e gettata nella ghiacciaia per mantener freddo il luogo anche durante il periodo estivo.
Il tetto è a volta e i muri sono spessi circa un metro, la profondità è di 8,45 metri.

The ice house in Piazza Municipio (the only one in the valley) is a cylindrical wall construction, which was necessary at the time for storing food. Snow was compacted and thrown into the icebox to keep the place cold even during the summer months.
The roof is vaulted and the walls are about one metre thick, the depth is 8.45 metres.

Ghiacciaia, per il latte, ecc…, ne ho viste da diverse parti, in particolare in Valtellina ed una anche qui a Piedicavallo in Vallle Cervo.
