Hair ice or Снежные волосы 1

Hair ice is formed when the air temperature is just below freezing and the humidity. Ice is extruded from the pores of a plant and freezes in thin filaments. On this morning, the air temperature was -4℃ and the humidity was 96%. I see this several times per winter on clear mornings within a few meters of the edge of the pond.

Yes, I really do have Siberian friends. I met them on Panoramio years ago and we still keep in touch.

Nice! I didn't keep up with the two I knew in the far eastern region and wish I had. Now, Street View covers much of Russia, so that's a fun diversion.
