The Lista Lighthouse is a 34 meter tall stone tower which was lit for the first time on the 10th of November 1836. During the Second World War, a bunker system was built around the lighthouse to protect it from Allied Forces. The lighthouse sits on a cape on the edge of the Listafjorden which marks the extreme southwestern edge of the mainland of Norway. The lighthouse had a foghorn that was used from 1877 until 1987.

In 1937, the station began emitting a racon signal of the morse code letter "G". Follow the 134 steps to the top and enjoy the fantastic view of the Lista peninsula and the sea.. These are the final 14 steps up to the top. The views are wonderful.

Vessel SANDNES is a training ship built in 1950 and currently sailing under the flag of Norway. SANDNES has 72m length overall and beam of 11m. Her gross tonnage is 1432 tons. I have been on board, but never sailed in her. This sounds good though: Evening trips in the beautiful nature of Ryfylke Full service. Choose between varied sea food buffets or 3 course dinners. Dance with live music possible. Both outdoor and indoor seating. They can offer guiding of the area, guided tour of the ship, fishing competitions as well as visits to different local attractions. The 2 feathers shown are quite different. The larger one is a structure feather, and the smaller is more similar to a down feather and is from the breast of the bird. The whole feather is called a shaft. The Calamus is the short, hollow, tubular, unpigmented end of the mature feather which is below the skin. This is the part of the feather that can be used as a quill for writing. The Rachis is the long solid, tubular extension of the calamus above the skin. The Vane is the portion of the feather that extends to either side of the rachis. In both feathers it's possible to see the after-feathers which are soft and downy.

I'm very busy this weekend. It's the village home grown show, and I'll be entering several classes so I won't have time to visit or comment. The proceeds go to our local church.

I think this fence is protecting an installation that creates geothermal energy.

Excuse me madam, but you seem to have some ladders…

How do I get out of this lift?

This week's Sunday challenge is metal. A couple of coloured washing up cloths underneath the brushed stainless steel kettle and wearing a purple fleece was all it took.
