Burial ground and War Grave
This burial ground was miles away from any town or even small village, and not attached to a church either. The location was wild and beautiful though and a nice resting place. In the rtight foreground there is the memorial stone, erected by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, of J. Wagstaff.

The theme for Macro Monday this week is bubbles. A difficult challenge without another pair of hands. I tried bubbles in the bath, floating bubbles and bubbles blown through a demolished old biro
The best colours were from the photos taken outside, but it was difficult to catch unburst bubbles until there was a covering of light drizzle on the paving stones which maintained the surface tension better, but very soon it became too windy.
Here are some trials in the PiPs. The most useless one is an impression of floating bubbles, just streaks of light really.

The Sunday Challenge (TSC): must begin with an 'F' , and close-up in B&W.
I chose to get as close up yo a group of fungi as my lens would allow to show the structure of the underside of the fungus. The photo shows the gills, the stem and the veil which covers the gills of an emerging mushroom. The PiPs show the original photo with slug eaten holes in the smaller fungi, and the some more details of the frill round the edge of the gills.

TSC. Celebrating The Millenium

The Sunday Challenge: Have a celebration of sorts. Anything at all you want to celebrate.
Not an easy challenge in fact, but at least I can celebrate that I haven't lost my bottle. :-)))
The original photo (see PiP) was bland to the point of being absolutely boring. I did a touch up with Pic Monkey, and it could be that everything is now sinking underwater these days.
A’chleit Kirk

The kirk at A'Chlèit was completed in 1790 and is the parish kirk of Killean, and was built 1787-91 by local builder Thomas Cairns.
Many folks drive past this turn-off and miss this little church right on the shoreline. I wish I had checked to see if the door was unlocked.
