Thank you, Doug. Next time you are in St.Andrews, this area is well worth a visit. The beach is almost endless, and there is a lovely forested area behind, so the tourists have plenty of room to spread around. ;-)

You could call it a deconstructed fence- love it! We are having a storm right now- one with quiet phases and sudden heavy gusts of wind in between. Yucky weather all around, it seems... Nevertheless HFF, Amelia!

It feels very cold here at the moment, but at least the sun is trying to put in an appearance. The sleet is dripping off our greenhouse roof, so the strong north easterly wind is making it feel a lot colder than it is. What I really want is some lovely dry heavy snow - but only when we are all safely at home by the fireside. ;-)

Amen to that! Here snow usually quickly turns to brown slush because of all the salt they put on the roads...Still waiting for the snow to arrive though!

Well, there may not have been snow, and it may not protect the nature reserve, but nature is clearly in charge and that's a lovely sky. HFF, Amelia.

Nature is always in charge, George, much as we'd like to think we have the upper hand. This is one of those lovely deserted beaches that can be found in Scotland. ;-)

Next time we're in the St.Andrews area, (probably this year at some point), I'll check it out Cheryl. This is a beautiful beach in the Kingdom of Fife, and well worth a visit.

I love this Amelia................best fence of the day for me..!! Such a tangled mess of wire, rope and wood but looking windswept and interesting in the sunshine.

Bring on some new posts and wire, Neil, and if we all work together the site just might be saved. After all, this fence has lots of attractions in its own way - as does Ipernity. ;-)

A great find. We missed any snow, and I was similarly disappointed. I think all the hysteria was caused by a little snow dropping on London and Heathrow.

The weather forecasters have a hard time of it, Steve. Cast your mind back to Michael Fish and the great storm of m1987. We are a small island and it's difficult to forecast anything very accurately. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. ;-)
