Montgomery Canal. Bridge 83

This part of the Montgomery Canal is under reclamation. All the work is down by volunteers. There is a barrier under the bridge to prevent any more water from entering. There have been some leaks since this stretch of canal has been in water, but these seem to have been successfully dealt with.

I did, Derek, thank you; but am short of time; and checking on what's happening to Ip when I am online.

It's an easy walk here, and possible to park very near this relatively unattractive new bridge. There's also a very convenient canal-side cafe by bridge 80.

Lovely canal series Amelia.............it looks as if some great work is being done by the volunteers. It's good to see our heritage being restored to its former glory. Great reportage photography.

The volunteers do work hard, Keith, but seem to enjoy being up to the tops of their wellies in mud for a lot of the time. They are hoping that this part of the canal will be navigable as far as Welshpool. They have a challenge which will take years and years.;
