They've that cliff well covered. Interesting that the gorse is the first thing to grow through it.

There are other plants growing through here that have dies back for the winter. The gorse is evergreen and is almost always in flower, Ron.

There is a lovely saying in the UK:
"Kissing's out of season when gorse is out of bloom."

It's a narrow part of the road, with quite a lot of traffic and pedestrians, Wally. The council doesn't want to be sued. Cliffs like this in Norway are also covered but the wire mesh there is a lot stronger and is often coated in sheets of ice!

Amazing how the gorse grows through the netting and keeps producing flowers even in January! HFF, Amelia!

In the UK gorse flowers can be found on almost every day of the year, Gudrun. This is a privileged area mind you, sheltered for the worst excesses of severe weather by dint of being coastal.

As I said to Ron - "Kissing's out of season when gorse is out of bloom." ;-)

Some cliff faces here also are covered in mesh. I guess the gorse growing through it helps to stablise even more.
