3 heraldic panels were presumably added in the 1860s to the sides of the courtyard. this at first seems to be that of portcullis, but the herald's arms do not have this field, so whose arms are these?

triskelion arms of the isle of man, one of the arms of 3 heraldic panels presumably added in the 1860s to the sides of the courtyard. why these? they are not the arms of the heralds.

this side wing facing into a courtyard was built in 1671-3 by maurice emmett jnr.: in the 1860s the porch and steps were added by george plucknett when this became the main facade to a new street which removed the opposite wing of the quadrangle. the pilasters with their garlanded ionic capitals and diamond badged bands are the most obvious remaining c17 feature externally, rather old fashioned artisan mannerist work for the time.

originally a quadrangular building built in the late c17 to designs by maurice emmett jnr., one wing was lost to queen victoria street in the 1860s, when the porch and steps were added by george plucknett, who tidied up the wings too. the original entry was from the west, on the left side here. the gates came from goodrich court, and seem to be c18 ironwork added to by the bromsgrove guild in the c20 .
