From The North Carolina Native Plant website:
Scientific Name: Lilium superbum
Common Name: Turk's Cap Lily
Lily : Family Liliaceae
Native/ Perennial --
It is either great blooms -- or none ..
During a dry year - we get leaves...
We have had more than usual amount of rain, so Lil is hanging in there.
So, pardon me ..
I'm going out to sit with her to make sure she knows I am enjoying her orange beauty ~

Not ignoring the American Lady (who was visiting my neighbor) and the Skipper .. that I hope PamJ can tell me his name ... I've turned the pages of Kaufman Field Guide to Butterflies of North American until my fingers need a rest ~
She is Here ~

Some shots are blurry -
What do you expect when the person holding the camera is so excited ?
Ah, what a Day !

An American Lady (Vanessa virginiensis) -
Enjoying nectar of the False Sunflowers -
A magnet for butterflies and bees -
Seeds gifted from Pam J -
Yellow is a color of Joy -
As were the seeds from a Dear Soul -
Yes, most of y'all know I talk to my plants -
Butterflies -
Bees -
Every day when I'm out near these magnet-flowers, I talk to Pam -
There is love in those petals -
Thank you ...

Top Left - American Snout (Libytheana carinenta) -- A Lifer for me !
Top Right - American Lady (Vanessa virginiensis)
Bottom Right - Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus)
Bottom Left - Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia)
All seen this morning, plus Skippers darting back and forth -
The American Snout is a Lifer for me - knew it was in NC, but 1st time seen -
It landed on my camera - flew away - returned and I put out my hand for it to get salt -
Remained there forever (yes, shooting with one hand gets dicey) - just ask Pam J ;)
