Early in the morning on the "Normandie", the English coast appears. The "Normandie" is one of two ferries on the Caen/Ouistreham - Portsmouth route (the other being the "Mont Saint Michel"). The "Stoke Lake" inlet, to the north of the naval cemetery, follows the tidal flows. There is a bench in the shade from which you have this picturesque view. Haslar Royal Naval Cemetery is a beautiful green setting on the shores of Stoke Lake. It is the last resting place of over 1500 British Sailors who died in the service of their country in two world wars and others who lost at sea in other conflicts and peacetime accidents. BANK IN FRIEDLICHER UMGEBUNG. Der königliche Marinefriedhof Haslar liegt in einer wunderschönen grünen Umgebung an den Ufern des Lake Stoke. Es ist die letzte Ruhestätte von über 1500 britischen Matrosen, die im Dienst ihres Landes in zwei Weltkriegen gefallen sind, sowie von anderen, die in anderen Konflikten und bei Unfällen in Friedenszeiten auf See ums Leben kamen.

with its colourwashed brick facade is a grade II listed building in Fareham, Hampshire. I really like these fancy doors I often saw in England and Ireland . PENDEEN COTTAGE avec sa façade en brique colorée est un bâtiment classé à Fareham, dans le Hampshire. J'aime beaucoup ces portes fantaisistes que j'ai souvent vues en Angleterre et en Irlande . PENDEEN COTTAGE mit seiner Fassade aus farbigem Backstein ist ein denkmalgeschütztes Gebäude in Fareham, Hampshire. Ich mag sehr diese originellen Türen, die ich in England und Irland oft gesehen habe.

Le site surplombe le port de Portsmouth, il a été donc une forteresse romaine, une place forte normande, résidence royale et même un camp de prisonniers de guerre pendant les guerres napoléoniennes (plus de 7 000 prisonniers y furent détenus.) PIP : Le donjon normand, vu de l'extérieur de l'enceinte du château. PORTCHESTER CASTLE is probably the best-preserved Roman fort in Europe. It was built in the 3rd century to protect the south coast of England from Saxon invasion. The Norman castle, which was added to the Roman fortress in the 12th century, has a monumental keep and a moat that is filled by the sea at high tide. The site overlooks Portsmouth harbour and has been a Roman fortress, a Norman stronghold, a royal residence and even a prisoner-of-war camp during the Napoleonic Wars (over 7000 prisoners were held here). La Tour Spinnaker est une tour d'observation haute de 170 m située à Portsmouth. Inaugurée en 2005, elle est devenu le symbole de la ville. Wild coast (Greve de Lecq on Jersey)

Le château de Mont Orgueil mérite bien son nom ... il surplombe fièrement le port de Gorey sur l'ïle de Jersey. La construction a été entreprise à la suite de la division du duché de Normandie en 1204 et a été mentionné pour la 1ère fois en 1212. C'était la principale défense de Jersey jusqu'au développement de la poudre à canon, à ce moment-là il était remplacé par le château Elizabeth de Saint-Hélier. L'ancien château a continué d'être utilisé comme seule prison de l'île jusqu'à la construction d'une prison à Saint-Hélier à la fin du 17e siècle. Aujourd'hui, le site du patrimoine est géré par le Jersey Heritage Trust et est ouvert au public. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The castle of Mont Orgueil proudly overlooks the port of Gorey on the island of Jersey. Its construction was undertaken following the division of the Duchy of Normandy in 1204 and was first mentioned in 1212. It was in Guernsey in his Hauteville House that Victor Hugo lived in exile from 1856 to 1870, after opposing the coup d'etat and the dictatorship of Napoleon III. He wrote there among others "Les Miserables". A small romantic-style garden still contains the oak planted by the writer in 1870 in honor of the "United States of Europe". R-V AVEC VICTOR HUGO. À l’entrée du port s’élève le château-fort de Cornet, une forteresse du XIIIe siècle dans la mer. Ses murs se souviennent des corsaires et autres aventuriers qui ont navigué en ces eaux.
