Le château Boucard est construit au XIVe siècle. Autrefois fortifié et entouré de douves, c'était le lieu où vivait le trésorier du chapitre de chanoines. Ensuite il est utilisé comme hospice jusqu'au XIXe siècle, avant d'accueillir un musée des traditions rurales. I WISH YOU A HAPPY 1st OF MAY. The "Boucard" castle was built in the 14th century. Parthenay est bien connue pour son vieux centre très bien conservé abritant de nombreuses maisons à pans de bois. Diese Orangerie aus Stein und Ziegeln im Stil Louis XIII. mit einem Garten im französischen Stil war ein Nebengebäude des alten Schlosses und wurde von 1632 bis 1634 erbaut. Heute ist es ein Ort für zahlreiche kulturelle Veranstaltungen und kann auch für Familienfeiern gemietet werden.

A path leads into the heart of nature, beside a stream and its waterfall. HÖLLENBRUNNEN. So wird dieser eher friedliche Wasserfall genannt, aber eine Legende besagt, dass ein Bauer, der mit seinem Karren durch das tosende Wasser fuhr, mitgerissen wurde und für immer im "Höllenbrunnen" verschwand... Heute ist es eine Oase der Ruhe, aber man braucht eine gute Kondition und gutes Schuhwerk, um diesen steilen und malerischen Ort zu erkunden. Ein Pfad führt mitten durch die Natur, an einem Bach und seinem Wasserfall vorbei.

Le château des ducs de la Trémoille est placé stratégiquement sur un promontoire naturel dominant un méandre du Thouet, il possède un bâtiment principal, une cour intérieure, une orangerie, une chapelle et des écuries. Avec une façade de plus de 110 m de long précédée d'une cour d'honneur entourée de galeries à portiques, il est l'un des plus importants en France dans la première moitié du 17ème siècle. HERE THE GOLDEN HOUR DESERVES ITS NAME. The castle of the Dukes of La Tremoille is located on a strategic defense point -a promontory above the Thouet river- and consists of the main building, an inner court, an orangery, a chapel and a stable. With a facade of over 110 m long preceded by a main courtyard surrounded by porticoed galleries, it was one of the most important in France in the first half of the 17th century.

L'église Saint-Héray est construit au XVe siècle mais possède des contreforts d'angles et une façade sobre, typiques du roman poitevin. Au XVIIe siècle un couvent de Dames bénédictines aujourd'hui disparu était attenant. A CHURCH WITH STYLE... Saint-Héray church was built in the 15th century, but features corner buttresses and a sober facade, typical of the Poitevin Romanesque style. In the 17th century, it was adjoined by a convent of Benedictine nuns, which has now disappeared. EINE KIRCHE MIT STIL... Die Kirche Saint-Héray wurde im 15. Jh. erbaut, besitzt jedoch Eckstrebepfeiler und eine schlichte Fassade, die typisch für die Poitou-Romanik sind. Im 17. Jh. war ein heute nicht mehr existierendes Kloster der Benediktinerinnen angebaut.

La chapelle Jeanne d'Arc (XIXème s.) de style négothique est remarquable par ses proportions, sa rosace en façade et ses vitraux. Elle comportait un campanile et des pinacles. L'ancien édifice religieux est désacralisé; aujourd'hui c'est un centre d'art avec expositions régulières, il devient le 11ème Centre d’Art Contemporain d’Intérêt National de France. WHERE IS THE PINNACLE? This chapel (19th C.) in neo-gothic style is noteworthy for its proportions, its rose window and its stained glass windows. It used to have a bell tower and spires. The former religious building is desecrated, today it's an art center with regular exhibitions, and since 2017 becomes the 11th Center for Contemporary Art of National Interest in France.
