I get the feeling that nobody drank anything but scotch, bourbon, and whiskey back then. They take up about 2/3rds of the catalog. I think the other liquors were just thrown in there for appearance's sake.

Well, sort of. There were plenty of cocktail and snack recipes mixed in with the ads. Also measuring guides, instructions for cooking with wine, and that helpful calendar ( "Resolve to call us when in low spirits!" Ouch.) Somehow, they overlooked phone numbers for local cab companies, though. Or some crossword puzzles/word search games for the poor bored sap who was stuck being designated driver.
