A predecessing church existed in Janesville already within the 11th century. Maybe even much earlier. Large parts of the structure still date back to 12th and 13th century, but the church got ruined during the Hundred Years’ War. Rebuilding took centuries and actually never got completed. As the choir never got finished - and added, the nave, seen here from the gallery, seems rather short.
