During three warm long summer nights, the festival "La Fête du Cognac" perfectly combines local food, lovely wines, cognacs (!) and interesting music. Thanks to about 450 volunteers this is a great place to have a good time together with many locals. I did not know HollySiz, but the audience did. She is kown not only as a singer in France, but as well as an actress. From the distant, she looked (for me) a bit like Blondie´s Debbie Harry from the late 70s, but the music was completely different.

As "real" knives are not allowed for security reasons, I had to cut the meat with a small piece of plywood, that had the form of a knife. I had no success. In 2018 came the solution! The hungry people queue for a "brochette" ("meat skewer"), so there is no knife necessery.

Though the brass session of the backing band was smaller this year, DeRobert performed a warm, raw soul - with power. He got the audience dancing. The snails (cornu aspersum) here are stuffed with minced meat and slow-cooked with white wine, carrots, garlic, onion, thyme, tomato and a dash of cognac!
