Cognac - Cagouilles à la charentaise


During warm long summer nights, the festival "La Fête du Cognac" perfectly combines local food, lovely wines, cognacs (!) and interesting music. Thanks to about 450 volunteers this is a great place to have a good time together with many locals.
“Cagouilles” in Charente are known as "escargots" elsewhere in France.
The snails (cornu aspersum) here are stuffed with minced meat and slow-cooked with white wine, carrots, garlic, onion, thyme, tomato and a dash of cognac!
