The restaurant ‘Das AbendMahl’ has a very German name, but is actually a place where you can enjoy inexpensive, hearty Italian cuisine.

I know that pizzas were baked in Italy as early as the 18th century and that at the end of the 19th century a pizza was created in Naples that was named Pizza Margherita after King Umberto I's wife.
The French chefs took over the basic recipe from the Italians and invented a completely new pizza.

A pizza takeaway on the island of Muhu. Are there still places on this planet without pizza restaurants or takeaways?

Greek settlers from Asia Minor lived here around 560 BC and Herodot mentioned the settlement under the name of "Allalia". Then Alalia became Etruscan, Roman, Carthaginian and after the First Punic War Roman again. This history is common for coastal towns on Corsica. An ancient Hellenistic necropolis was found in Aléria. Little south are still remains of the city walls, the amphitheatre and the forum. In 465 it was sacked by the Vandals, but still in the late 6th century it held a bishopric.
In the 13th century, Aleria became of interest to the Republic of Genoa. Over the century the Italian influence grew so strong, that, despite the French and Corsican cuisine, Aléria hosts a nice pizzeria, that is open even late at night.
Saint-Robert - Saint-Robert

Once "Saint Robert" was the center of a thriving priory, depending from the important Bendictian abbey "La Chaise-Dieu" in the Auvergne (250kms east). The priory got established here around 1080, the erection of the large pilgrim-church started soon after. The church is dedicated to Saint Robert, aka Robert de Turlande. Hé had founded La Chaise Dieu in 1053, and got canonized already in 1070.
This church got ruined during the Hundred Years´ War - and what can be still seen is the transept, the crossing tower and (not from this pov) the choir behind. The large nave was, where the parking lot stretches today. The ruined nave finally got demolished around 1580 and never got rebuilt.
After the French Revolution the church was used for the fabrication and storage of weapons and ammunition. It got restored within the 19th century. The village of Saint-Robert surrounding the church is one of the nicest in France - a "plus beaux villages de France".

The parish church of Vigois is the last structure of the former "Abbaye Saint-Pierre", founded here by Yrieix du Limousin (aka "St. Yriex", "Aredius") within the 6th century.
So the "Abbaye Saint-Pierre" was one of the oldest convents within the Limousin.
In the 9th century the Normans (Vikings) looted and ruined the abbey. After some decades, the abbey recovered and got rebuilt. In 1070 it burnt down. Since 1082 it was dependent from Cluniac Saint-Martial Abbey in Limoges and prospered during the 12th century.
Destroyed again during the Hundred Years War, rebuilt again by the Bishop of Limoges. During the Wars of Religions Huguenot troops burnt down the nave of the church and vandalized many of the carvings. Another fire hit the church in 1705, when it fell into disrepair.
All buildings of the convent got demolished after the French Revolution, only the Saint-Pierre, now the parish church, survived the times. The renovation of the nave was completed in the 1860s. Apse and crossing got restored early 20th century.
