Softwood planks for both the van floor and the sides. Further machining will be done in-house, to achieve the exact profiles required.

Dry fitting the softwood planks that make up the interior at the outer end of the passenger section. Once removed these will be filled, knotted and primed, with the final finish will be medium oak scumble, protected by non-yellowing varnish. Progress is being made on fitting the exterior panelling (primed and grain-filled).

Bulkhead planks after being scumbled as "figured light/medium oak". Once this has cured, it will be varnished for protection as the scumble finish is quite soft compared to standard coach paints.

Painting underway on the bodywork planks, currently in light grey undercoat. Note the curved ends to the long planks, these fit into the corner plates (the black upright object is one of the corner plates, with the top plank adjusted to fit). The short end planks are not yet cut to their exact length, once they have been, the end grain will be painted.

Almost all the woodwork is finished now, just the roof to dry fit. Cutting the air vents was an interesting exercise.

Stack of replacement roof planks await fitting. Normally, we dry fit planks and then remove them in order to paint the ceiling face. However, these will be covered by another layer, so will only be treated with knotting and preservative before installation.

The replaced floor planks are lighter in colour than the originals.
