Part of Upper Spokane Falls, from the footbridge in Riverfront Park. Spokane, Washington state, USA. IIRC the city of Spokane (spoh-KAN) started as a trading post at the portage around these falls.

Spokane River in Spokane, Washington, USA. The cable to right of center is for a gondala ride you can take under the bridge for a view of the river and lower falls. Some of the gondolas on the return cable are visible to the right. Evidently the bridge isn't important enough to have a Wikipedia page! ;)

Spokane, Washington state, USA. Looking downstream from the east end of Riverfront Park just above Spokane Falls, on the Howard Street Bridge IIRC. The bridge visible downstream is a footbridge that gives a view of the upper falls, where some other pix in this album were taken. "Spokane" is pronounced "spoh-KAN", btw.

In Riverfront Park, downtown Spokane, Washington, USA. The straight, even fall right at the top is artificial. It's over a diversion weir that sends some of the flow into a hydropower generating plant, built around the turn of the last century.
