Uploaded for the vintage Photos Theme Park Theme of: 9/16 - 9/22 THE DANCER Posting a little late thanks to dental surgery and Covid. : ( Anyway, here's a pic for the theme with dancers rather than a single dancer - which is what my level of search energy allowed in the last few weeks. All better now! Found photo last year in Brandon, Vermont.

The Graduates

Another snapshot of the "Lively in the American '20s" women. I wish I knew where this university was. Does anyone recognize that tower? Photograph found (with others) in Ferrisburgh, Vermont. Hmmm. Looking at images, I think this might be Wellesley College in Massachusetts.

Bunch of Women

Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: X MARKS THE SPOT (an X to indicate something or someone on the photo) This photograph was taken in England and sent out to my mother's cousin Edwin Earp (called Sonny by his family) who emigrated to Australia in the 1920s. 80 years later, his granddaughter, Erin and I connected online (she's my second cousin) and she sent copies of many of the English photos to me - a treasure! I could recognize quite a lot of people from other family photos but have no idea who any of these women are. Erin had titled it "Bunch of Women" so I kept the title - and the "X" on the far left woman qualifies it for this week's theme!

It's Sugaring Time in Vermont

12 Mar 2013 208
I like this old photo. I found it in southern Vermont a few years ago. That's probably a sugar shack in the back of the photo,(I added a note) but even if it's not, the landscape looks like March - sugaring time. (Maple Syrup.) Right now the sap is flowing well. It needs cold nights and warm days (relatively warm, 30s and 40s) for optimum flow, and that's what we're getting. Tomorrow, I'm doing a maple sugar theme at the library Story Hour. I'll finish by giving them tiny dixie cups of maple syrup to dip their graham crackers in. Mmmmm. Pure gold.

H.R.H. Prince Of Wales At Barrow With Sir Alfred B…

03 Dec 2010 183
Sir Alfred has a black cross inked on the back of his coat and is the one with his back to the camera. I'm guessing this is the late 1920s? From a small collection of my husband's grandfather. Barrow, Lancashire.

Postcards from the personal collection of my husband's grandparents. They had emigrated from Barrow-in-Furness where his grandfather Harry King was born. (Agnes originally came from Greenock Scotland.) There are quite a few postcards from the north of England or Scotland that they either brought with them or relatives sent over to them.

This one looks like it was taken in the early 1920s. The only newspaper headline I can make out says: " Football's Most Amazing Year Wolves Trainer Tells All" *Best when viewed at largest view.*
